Avito is the largest and fastest growing online classified platform in Russia, and the number of unique monthly visitors continued to grow at a satisfying pace during 2015.

The company has obtained a leading position in terms of visitors and number of ads, distancing itself from its competitors. Once a firm market-leading position is achieved, Avito’s business model has great potential in terms of profitability judging by the experience of peers in other countries. Avito is already the leading brand and has the highest brand awareness in Moscow and St. Petersburg and the merger with Naspers-owned Slando.ru and OLX.ru in the beginning of 2013 has significantly reaffirmed this #1 position in the Russian market.

Compared to western countries, Russia still has a low proportion of internet users in relation to the large total population. By the end of 2016 the number of internet users in Russia is expected to reach around 100 million, compared to 70–75 million in 2013. The market for internet related services is expected to grow significantly in correlation with an increased internet penetration, and the number of Russians who want to buy things online grew strongly over the past year.
